P & D Hospice Society ~ Palliative Care Week

Posted: June 27, 2017

“Since May 7-13 is Palliative Care Week I would like to acknowledge the wonderful work done by the staff and volunteers of the Penticton and District Hospice Society both with palliative care patients in their homes and with those in the Andy Moog Hospice House.  My husband Keith was a patient in Hospice House for almost four months before he passed away.  From my family’s perspective, the care he received freed us from having to deal with the physical aspects of his disease, a full time job in itself.  It gave my son and I the opportunity to spend Keith’s remaining days with him as a family — visiting, watching basketball games, discussing politics, talking about things that really matter, and just sitting quietly together.  What they gave us was priceless.  Thank you.”
