P & D Hospice Society ~ Volunteer
Volunteering with the Penticton & District Hospice Society is a wonderful opportunity to make a difference in someone’s life, be part of a team, share your experience, learn new skills and develop lasting friendships. Volunteers play a key role in the care of patients and their families during the most vulnerable time of their lives.
There are many ways to be involved:
- Interacting directly with patients and their families, either at Hospice House or in their home
- Telephone support
- Assisting with meal delivery
- Providing pet therapy, music or massage
- Assisting with special events (eg: fundraisers)
- Being a community ambassador by dropping off brochures and providing information about us at events/table displays etc.
- Retail help
- Gardening
Benefits of Volunteering:
When you become part of our team, we all benefit! Volunteering with the society provides many benefits and opportunities, and the rewards are as unique and personal as your reasons for wanting to volunteer. All volunteers receive comprehensive training, professional development and ongoing support.
